Voting for the 2018 General Election Runoff took place from March 27 through March 29. As a reminder, this runoff election was held to decide the offices of ASG President, Vice President, and Secretary. The office of ASG Treasurer was decided in the original General Election. No election complaints were filed for the General Election Runoff. The ASGJ has reviewed all candidates’ expenditure reports, and verified final vote totals and results. The following results have been reviewed and approved by a quorum of the ASGJ.

According to the 2018 General Election packet, candidates must receive a majority of all votes cast for that office. The majority threshold is fifty percent of all votes counted plus one. The final vote total is calculated by taking the number of votes cast, including votes for all candidates and the “Prefer Not to Respond” option, and subtracting any vote deduction penalties. There were no vote deduction penalties in the 2018 General Election, so the majority threshold will be fifty percent of all votes cast plus one. As a reminder, President and Vice-President candidates ran together as one voting option, and the office of Secretary was a separate voting option.

For the office of SECRETARY, there were 4,594 votes cast. The majority threshold needed to win election for this office is 2,298.

There were 92 votes cast for the “Prefer not to respond” option.

Josie Dubois received 1,959 votes.

Luke Humphrey received 2,543 votes.

Congratulations to your next ASG Secretary, Luke Humphrey.

For the offices of PRESIDENT AND VICE-PRESIDENT, there were 4,596 votes cast. The majority threshold needed to win election for this office is 2,299.

There were 55 votes cast for the “Prefer not to respond” option.

Spencer Bone and Abby Sikes received 1,998 votes.

J.P. Gairhan and Abigail Walker received 2,543 votes.

Congratulations to your next ASG President, J.P. Gairhan, and your next ASG Vice President Abigail Walker.

The ASG Judiciary would like to thank each of you for coming out to support these candidates this evening. Congratulations again to the 2018-2019 ASG Executive team: President-elect J.P. Gairhan, Vice President-elect Abigail Walker, Secretary-elect Lukey Humphrey, and Treasurer-elect Isamar Garcia.

The following report was generated from Qualtrics, the university survey platform that online voting was hosted on. This report shows the vote totals for the executive election as well as select campus data for the election. Since there were not vote deduction penalties in this election, these vote totals stand as the final vote totals.
