Campaigning for the General Election began on February 20th and voting for the election took place from March 4th through March 6th. Voting for the run-off election took place this week, beginning on April 1st and ending on April 3rd.

According to the 2019-2020 General Election packet, candidates must receive a majority of all votes cast for that office. The majority threshold is fifty percent of all votes counted plus one. The final vote total is calculated by taking the number of votes cast, including votes for all candidates and the “Prefer Not to Respond” option, and subtracting any vote deduction penalties that may have been sanctioned as a part of a campaign violation. There were no vote deduction penalties in the 2019-2020 General Election Run-off, so the majority threshold will be fifty percent of all votes cast plus one. As a reminder, President and Vice-President candidates ran together as one voting option. Treasurer and Secretary candidates were each separate voting options.

The following results have been reviewed and approved by a quorum of the ASGJ.

For the office of SECRETARY, there were 4,514 votes cast. The majority threshold needed to win election for this office is 2,191

There were 87 votes cast for the “Prefer not to respond” option.
