Razorback Action Group

The Razorback Action Group (RAG) is a nonpartisan advocacy group that represents the interests of the University of Arkansas student body. Members of the Razorback Action Group serve as representatives of the Associated Student Government at the University of Arkansas in local, state, and federal special interests. RAG works on behalf of students to ensure that government officials at all levels are aware of the most important issues to our student body. Our team explores ways to unite and excite the University of Arkansas student body when it comes to governmental relations and higher education issues.

i

Policy Tracking

During the legislative session, members of RAG track policies that are proposed by legislators that affect students.

m

Planning

RAG helps plan and organize SEC in DC, an annual event held in DC where members of student governments from the SEC meet to discuss policies relevant to students.

w

Advocacy

RAG travels to Little Rock and communicates with legislators and administrators to support or advocate against policies.

Legislative Priorities

RAG’s legislative priorities include:

Alcohol Amnesty

Alcohol and substance amnesty policies are crucial in supporting student safety–nobody should ever be afraid to call for help. Learn more about your rights to amnesty in cases of a drug overdose here and the current University of Arkansas alcohol alternative resolution policy here, and ask our legislators for expanded alcohol amnesty options.

Renters’ Rights

Arkansas is the only state in the country where landlords do not have to provide a habitable dwelling. This is a student rights issue too, as many students rent houses or apartments. We advocate for and support comprehensive renters’ rights in the state.

If you are a renter in need of assistance, check out the nonpartisan Arkansas Renters United.

Pro-Student Policies

We support pro-student policies on a state and federal level, including Pell Grant access and higher education support. Let our representatives know that you support Arkansas higher education!

Contact our Representatives

Below is the contact information for the officials representing the University of Arkansas and surrounding areas. The University is in Arkansas House District 86 (Rep. Clowney) and Senate District 4 (Sen. Leding.) However, if you live off campus, you may have different representation–check to see who your House and Senate reps are.
