Candidates are presented in no particular order.
Presidential Candidate

Amanda Hux
Lafayette, LA
The University of Arkansas has provided me with countless opportunities beyond even my most daring dreams, and running for Student Body President is the greatest honor of all. I believe that a commitment to service, a willingness to sacrifice, and a powerful love for the student body are what bring me to announce my candidacy. The title of President, though important, is not nearly as vital to campus as the initiatives I hope to spearhead. Alongside Vice Presidential Candidate Laney Kellybrew, Treasurer Candidate Alexandria May, and Secretary Candidate Brylan Cole, we are excited to bring a collective effort for the betterment of campus through our ticket. Our platform consists of three core values: demanding transparency, promoting community, and ensuring safety at the University of Arkansas. I believe our student body not only desires, but deserves action in these areas. It is with a hopeful and glad heart that I announce my candidacy for 2025-2026 Associated Student Government President.
Secretary Candidate

Brylan Cole
Bergman, Arkansas
Hello Friends! As a student passionate about amplifying all voices and building connections, I’m excited to announce my candidacy for ASG Secretary. My time at the University of Arkansas has shown me how inclusive and thoughtful communication can build campus community. I’m proud to be running alongside Presidential Candidate Amanda Hux, Vice Presidential Candidate Laney Kellybrew, and Treasurer Candidate Alexandria May. Together, we’re committed to three core principles: transparency, community, and safety. As your Secretary, I would focus on making ASG more accessible to all students through clear communication, increased social media presence, and creating more opportunities for student voices to be heard. My experience as Chair of the Headliner Concerts Committee and Communications Coordinator for the Full Circle Food Pantry, have prepared me to serve as your next ASG Secretary. I believe that effective communication is the foundation of good governance, and I’m committed to ensuring every student feels informed, represented, and empowered on our campus. I would be honored to serve as your 2025-2026 ASG Secretary and work with these other qualified candidates to build a more transparent, connected, and safer campus for all Razorbacks.
Vice Presidential Candidate

Laney Kellybrew
Conway, Arkansas
Hi Razorbacks! I am Laney Kellybrew, and I am honored to run for your Student Body Vice President. Coming from Central Arkansas, attending the University of Arkansas was a dream of mine. My experience here has been nothing short of extraordinary due to my incredible peers, faculty, and the resources made available to me. From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew I wanted to become involved in the organizations that protect our education and further progress already made. I am extremely grateful to be running alongside Presidential Candidate Amanda Hux, Secretary Candidate Brylan Cole, and Treasurer Candidate Alex May. Our main priorities include reforming ASG processes to be more transparent, advancing on and off campus community, and keeping everyone safe while we do it. Advocacy for students has been a passion of mine for many years now, and I hope that my team and I can continue that priority through serving you. I could not be more excited for the chance to fight for everyone on this campus as your 2025-2026 Student Body Vice President.
Treasurer Candidate

Alexandria May
Maumelle, AR
Attending the University of Arkansas has always been a lifelong dream of mine, but I never could have imagined how greatly my time here would change my life. I have found my people, my community, and a true sense of belonging—an experience that has inspired me with a deep passion for helping others find the same. More than anything, I want every student on our campus to feel welcomed, supported, and connected. It is this passion for fostering campus community that brings me to announce my candidacy for Student Body Treasurer. Together with Presidential Candidate Amanda Hux, Vice Presidential Candidate Laney Kellybrew, and Secretary Candidate Brylan Cole, I am excited to work toward meaningful change on our campus. We are committed to amplifying our three core values—transparency, community, and safety—while making a lasting impact on the student body. Over the years, my love for this university and my dedication to serving its students have only grown, and I am truly honored to run alongside this team as your 2025-2026 Student Body Treasurer.
2025 Senate General Election Candidates
Candidates are presented in no particular order.

Jed Denny
Ruston, LA
I am looking to be elected for a second term as a ASG Senator to expand on what I’ve already done this school year. As a member of the Senate’s research committee, I have polled the student body, helping the rest of senate build legislation fine-tuned to student’s needs. If re-elected, I will play even more into this role and foster informed changes on our campus with student’s best interests in mind.

Preston Pschierer
Bella Vista, AR
As a representative of not only the prestigious Walton college students, but the greater student body, I will strive for efficiency within our associated student government. Knowing the severity of stalling bills up for debate in our current senate, I see the consequences of this on a student level. Our student led organizations go unaware of essential meetings within standing rules to gain funding, and resources needed to fuel our campus’s spirit. My ultimate goal is to bring awareness and encouragement to attend meetings that can ultimately decide a student organizations fate. The foundation of campus life is in the resources our student led organizations provide, which can impact students quality of life here on campus. Its our responsibility and duty to advocate for the voices of organizations whose rules and requirements for funding and eligibility, we in student government decide. I will increase the knowledge and awareness for these RSO’s, and efficiency of their requests.

Dhruva Rangarathna
Bentonville, Arkansas
I want to continue to serve as an ASG Senator because I know that there is still change to be made. I have been involved in ASG, Honors College Ambassadors, Hill Records, and the Distinguished Lecturers Committee. I partake in these involvements and others like them because I believe they contribute to the enrichment of the shared experience of the student body. However, my commitment to the betterment of this campus goes beyond these involvements, which is why I seek to continue within ASG Senate. Through my time serving as a Senator, I’ve realized that making change is as much a learning experience as it is a product of action. Participating in Senate, especially during such an eventful semester, has shown me the complexity of ASG and its relationship with the broader campus community. Without this understanding and experience, I would not be half as effective of a Senator as I am able to be. I do not want to take what I’ve gained in Senate somewhere else. To build a strong and effective Senate, its membership shouldn’t be entirely replaced each election. I want to give back to Senate what it’s given me, and make change with a better understanding, better goals, and above all else, with familiarity. In my time as Senator, I’ve become particularly interested in two issues : future housing and RSO funding. With both of these issues, it is important to recognize the work of the University’s administration and of OFA and the greater ASG respectively. Both of these issues require a greater degree of education, communication, and collaboration to ensure the best possible outcome. In a prospective Senate term, I would focus on these issues as the subject of future legislation and my continued research to ensure the best possible solutions. Furthermore, the same issues I was interested in before I joined Senate have not been miraculously resolved. Issues created by an ever increasing student body without the proper accommodations and improvements are still present. Whether it be tangible issues like campus infrastructure and parking, or issues such as involvement opportunities and college pride, I am and would be committed to making incremental improvements through service and legislation. Senate has been one of the most enriching experiences I’ve had within my time at the University of Arkansas. Senate’s diverse and unique membership, its encouragement of creativity and collaboration, and its open forum structure all make it an environment I thrive within. Furthermore, I’ve realized that the impact I can make as Senator goes beyond our campus; the coordination I hope to achieve would most definitely reach beyond the University. However, Senate is not only what it has to offer me. I know what is possible if I am able to continue serving, building upon these experiences, and developing myself as a student leader. I aim to create a lasting positive impact on the student experience at the University. ASG Senate is the best place for me to fulfill that goal.

Carly Denson
San Angelo, Texas
Having previously served in the Associated Student Government, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact of strong leadership on our campus. My passion lies in ensuring that every student has a voice and that we continuously strive for the betterment of our campus and community. It would be an honor to once again serve, advocate for student needs, and contribute to making our campus an even better place. Fellow Razorbacks, it would be my honor to serve as your senator.

Bethany Mueller
Mont Belvieu, TX
Having served as an ASG Senator since last semester, I have had the privilege of engaging with students and faculty to address their concerns and advocate for meaningful change. My time in the Senate has reinforced my commitment to leadership, service, and collaboration, and I am eager to continue this work. To strengthen the connection between the student body, ASG members, and faculty, I was elected as the Senate Ambassador within the Senate Leadership Council in January 2025. This role allows me to advocate for Senate-passed legislation and create relationships with faculty by following up on key projects. Beyond legislation, I am passionate about promoting sustainability and active transportation. I have had the opportunity to work alongside the Office of Sustainability to increase bike parking on campus, addressing a tangible issue that directly impacts students. These initiatives have supported my belief that ASG is a platform for creating real, lasting change, and I hope to continue efforts that improve campus life. If re-elected, I will build on these initiatives by further promoting sustainability efforts and advocating for student resources that support academic success and well-being. My goal is to ensure that every student feels supported, empowered, and valued at the University of Arkansas.

Cooper Murphy
St. Louis, MO
I currently serve as the academics committee chairman for the ASG senate leadership council, where I lead a committee of senators who are passionate about advocating for positive change on campus. I am committed to ensuring the voice of the student body is heard and advocated for and making sure fellow senators are supported in their efforts to advocate for students. If I am to be re-elected, I guarantee that I will continue to act for change on campus and support the student body’s voice at large.

Noah Meharg
Judsonia, AR
As someone who grew up calling the hogs and supporting the red and white, I hope to serve as a University of Arkansas ASG Senator for Bumpers College in order to support the students at the school I dreamed of attending. From serving as a member of ASG’s Freshman Leadership Forum, where I’ve actively engaged in community service and outreach efforts, to recently earning the opportunity to represent Yocum Hall in the Resident’s Interhall Congress, I’ve worked to make an impact on campus. Additionally, I’ve been involved in Bumpers College through serving as Vice President of Collegiate Farm Bureau, Treasurer of the FFA Alumni chapter, and part of the Bumpers Honors Program. Throughout my senate term, I hope to translate my experience into a larger setting by striving to build meaningful relationships with all undergraduate students, being an open and understanding advocate for everyone regardless of their backgrounds and addressing issues that impact individuals the most. Whether it’s expanding resources for students hailing from rural areas like myself or creating an easier transition for out-of-state students, I hope to create a welcoming environment designed to support each person’s needs. Through events hosted during A-Week and other student engagement opportunities that take place throughout the year, I want to create opportunities for students to find their places and make their marks here at the University of Arkansas. I believe that through the instillment of my values of passion, purpose, leadership, growth, and integrity, we can reach new heights in our journey as individuals, a college, and a student body.

I have been on senate this past term and have learned so much through my time observing and participating in the student legislature process. I am surrounded by like-minded individuals who seek to foster change on this campus and it inspires me to put my ideas into action. During my current term, I seek to investigate the abilities of AI and how the university can adopt this technology to automate and personalize many online processes, especially the famously slow and tedious academic advising process. There is so much potential for the students to engage with the new AI technology that they’ve already started to use for assistance on homework assignments, scheduling tasks, creating meal plans, or even to prompt some funny jokes for friends. This comfortability with AI is growing and as a university, we can leverage this new technology to not only improve our communications and resources for students, but to also set us apart as a university focused on innovation and new possibilities.

I have always been interested in law/politics, which led me to have a passion for making an impact on them. I have worked with several non-profit organizations in my hometown to make Kansas City a safer place for women, and to help women who have experienced sexual assault and violence feel like they have a safe space. Since I can’t work with them as much from Fayetteville, I would like to make an impact on campus! I want to make UofA a place where college girls can feel safe. I want to come up with more resources for women on campus, or anyone, so students can feel like this is a safe place to be. I don’t want girls to feel like they shouldn’t walk or go on a run alone, or be by themselves at night. Also, as a student who pays for school herself, I want to make things more accessible to students. Whether that is groceries, hygiene products, etc. I want to make students feel like they have resources if they are struggling financially. Overall, I want to make campus a better place where every student can feel safe and accepted!

I would like to serve on the Associated Student Government as Senator because I am passionate about advocating for students and promoting positive change in our university. As a student studying psychology and criminology, I am seeking to understand more of the complexities of social dynamics and the importance of representation in decision making. Combining my academic background and my recent internship in office administration, I have strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills that will help me to represent the student body well. I want to accomplish many things such as improving accessibility to mental health resources, and advocating for inclusivity and academic success. I believe that every student deserves a voice in shaping their campus experience, and I want to make sure everyone is heard and their perspectives are valued. By collaborating with faculty, administration, and students, I hope to address concerns and contribute to campus improvements that will benefit everyone. Serving as Senator would be an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact, and I am excited about the possibility of working alongside other students to create a stronger campus environment.

Running for ASG Senate would be such an incredible opportunity to make an impact on the campus and university that has given so much to me. The University of Arkansas is blessed with a diverse student body and being a member of Senate would provide me with the opportunity to represent the unique blend of students we have here on campus. I am running for Senate because I believe in the importance of driving student-led change and creating a campus and community all students are proud to be a part of. As someone who is heavily involved in a wide variety of on-campus organizations, I have the unique opportunity to hear, understand, and bring forth the critiques and concerns of a wide range of students. I am eager to serve as a bridge between the student body and ASG and work with others to drive meaningful change at Arkansas. Through my involvement in different organizations, I have connected with students from a variety of backgrounds, academic disciplines, and campus communities. This has allowed me to see firsthand the issues that matter most to our student population; whether it’s the need for improved academic resources, greater mental health support, or more transparent communication between student government and the student body. My ability to engage with many different groups has prepared me to be an effective advocate who ensures all perspectives are considered in ASG decisions. If elected as a Senator, my primary goal would be to enhance student representation and ensure that all voices are heard in the policymaking process. Many students feel disconnected from ASG or are unaware of how decisions impact their daily lives. Increasing awareness on what ASG does on campus and how students can get involved and make their voices heard should be a top priority. The Senate is elected to represent the students, so making ASG and our resources more accessible would increase engagement with the general population. Another key focus of mine would be fostering a stronger partnership between ASG and student organizations. Many RSO’s are already working on incredible initiatives, and ASG should be a platform that amplifies their efforts rather than working in isolation. By creating more opportunities for collaboration, we can ensure that the student government remains truly representative of our campus community. Ultimately, I am running for ASG Senate because I want to ensure that every student feels heard, valued, and supported. My leadership experience across different organizations has given me the tools to be an effective advocate, and I am ready to put those skills to work for the student body. If elected, I will work tirelessly with other Senators to make ASG a more transparent, responsive, and impactful organization; one that truly serves the needs of every student on campus.

Emma Grace Beard

Max Bassler
Bentonville, AR
I’m Max Bassler, a sophomore pursuing Industrial Engineering and Finance at the University of Arkansas. My decision to run for ASG Senate is rooted in my passion for leadership, innovation, and giving back to our Razorback community. I believe that every student deserves to feel heard, supported, and empowered, and I’m excited to be a voice that drives meaningful change on campus. My experience spans a wide range of leadership roles and projects, from founding Razorback Reach—a volunteer-based organization dedicated to increasing literacy and donating books to underserved communities—to serving in presidential roles that required persistence, dedication, and a strong commitment to making a difference. Leading these initiatives has not only impacted our campus but also fostered long-term educational growth in the broader community. Beyond academics and leadership, I’m actively involved in several extracurriculars, including serving in an executive role with WISE, where I focus on fostering inclusive leadership and innovation. Additionally, my involvement in sports, particularly pickleball, has instilled in me a strong sense of sportsmanship, perseverance, and teamwork. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for collaboration and the power of diverse perspectives. If elected, I hope to focus on three key areas: Sustainability & Efficiency Initiatives: I plan to propose sustainable practices across campus, such as energy-saving initiatives and waste reduction programs, with an industrial engineering approach. By optimizing resource allocation for student organizations, we can ensure clubs receive the support they need while minimizing waste. Sustainability isn’t just about the environment—it’s about making our campus operations more efficient and future-ready. Promote Innovation & Technology on Campus: I want to introduce tech-driven solutions for student organizations, expanding on the success of the Razorback Reach app to help other clubs streamline operations. I’ll advocate for increased resources in cutting-edge fields like AI, blockchain, and IIoT within industrial engineering. Additionally, I’ll work to implement digital tools—such as Notion integrations—to centralize academic and extracurricular activities, making it easier for students to stay organized and engaged. Boost Professional Development Opportunities: As someone passionate about career growth, I’d love to create more networking events, workshops, and internship opportunities, especially in finance, engineering, and business. I aim to create a platform that connects students with local businesses, fostering valuable relationships and real-world experience. I also work closely with the Chamber of Commerce to bridge the gap between students and the local professional community. Additionally, I’ll advocate for funding student certifications (e.g., Coursera, Bloomberg Market Concepts) to prepare students for competitive job markets. Ultimately, I want to be a senator who listens—who takes the time to understand what’s important to YOU and works tirelessly to make it happen. Whether it’s improving campus facilities, boosting student engagement, or creating more avenues for success, I’m here to serve our community with integrity, creativity, and dedication. I’m excited about the opportunity to bring my energy, experience, and ideas to the ASG Senate. Let’s make our university not just a place where we learn, but a place where we thrive. Thank you for considering me, and I look forward to earning your support!

Peyton Farber
Wichita, Kansas
My name is Peyton Farber and I am running to be a member of the University of Arkansas Senate. As a Senator, I hope to be a strong voice for the student body, advocating for the well-being of the campus community. I am confident that my experience and skills will allow me to succeed as a University of Arkansas Senator. During my time at the U of A, I have been involved in various roles that I believe have prepared me to serve as a Senator. I recently completed my term as the Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing for my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. This position required me to thoughtfully listen to the concerns of my chapter and implement necessary changes to accommodate its needs. As a member of the Senate, I would apply the skills I gained in this role to be an intentional advocate for changes that benefit students. Additionally, I have spent the past year working for the student-run advertising agency on the U of A campus, Main Hill Media. My involvement in this agency has provided me with extensive collaborative and leadership experience while also allowing me to engage with a diverse range of students. This experience has given me valuable insight into the needs and concerns of the student body. It would be my honor to represent my peers by serving as a Senator. As a Senator, I hope to create meaningful change by advocating for the best interests of all students and drafting legislation that will positively impact the campus community.

Reese Turner
Cabot, Arkansas
As I have grown into my current position as a senator, I have formed my platform that I wish to stand on. I came into this position with the idea that I want to get more students involved with ASG and promote what we do on campus. However, my focus has shifted to helping provide students with the resources they need to succeed here at the University of Arkansas. If elected to serve on ASG Senate for a second term, I plan on making supplies more accessible to every student on campus. With this opportunity, I want to further advocate for the student body by listening to what they want and taking action to make it happen.

Tessa Sluyter
Bentonville, Arkansas
I want to serve as a Senator to continue my desire to help the University of Arkansas become a place in which students can look back after graduating and know that they were given support whenever they needed it. Having served in Senate this year, I have come to realize the effect and reach that Senate holds in so many areas on campus and I want to carry the knowledge that I acquired from this first year into my second. I previously served in a variety of organizations in my high school years, but nothing has come close to serving as a Senator. I’ve seen us take steps forward in helping students throughout the year, and I have just started learning of the ways in which the academic advising process could be improved, which is something that I am extremely excited for! I want to focus on and accomplish more steps forward in this area and I am determined to make it an easier process for students as well as something that can help them throughout their entire time at Arkansas. I believe with another year in Senate this is something that I can make a reality.
Casey Murray
Montgomery, TX
I want to serve as a ASG senator because I think it is a great way to give back to a community that’s given so mush to me. Somethings I hope to accomplish is the cleaning up of campus and to increase the philanthropy work of the general student body through ASG programs.

Ashley Waters
Plano, Texas
This will be my fourth year on Senate and there is a lot I hope to accomplish this year if I am reelected. I think that safety is a big issue that needs to be addressed on campus and I would like to make our school feel more like a home where students are comfortable walking around. I also want to make it easier for students with dietary restrictions to find food they are able to eat and make more options available for them.

Jenna Molleston
Little Rock, Arkansas
I want to serve as an ASG senator to advocate for student needs and help shape policies to meet those needs. Having been a member of an organization as impactful as ASG, I know I will be part of initiatives that reach far beyond me and the Senate. I hope to get every single student at the University of Arkansas into the conversation. Some of my goals include enhancing student engagement, promoting initiatives that expand pre-professional programs and opportunities, increasing university-wide volunteer participation, improving campus safety, and making campus more accessible for off-campus students by addressing concerns such as parking and bus systems. With experience in leadership roles such as being a Senator this past year, being a Walton Honors Peer Mentor, and as an Honors College Ambassador, I have been involved in various student organizations where I’ve successfully managed projects and facilitated student events. This experience, coupled with my passion for advocacy, drives my want to continue this involvement and expand its impact on a larger scale through ASG. I hope to continue with the efforts I have been a part of this year and continue to be a bridge between administration and students to ensure students feel empowered to take an active role in shaping their university experience. I want to be a resource to show students that together we have the power to influence positive changes on our campus.

Catherine Warren
Farmington, AR
As a two term senator, I have advocated for environmental and sustainability focused legislation that encourages innovation on campus. I have worked with dining hall administrators to audit the use of single use plastics at some of the dining halls and reduce their use through easy practice changes that make them less accessible to students. If I am to be re-elected, I plan to pursue a similar course of action and work to make the University of Arkansas a ‘greener’ campus.

Kevin Durden
Little Rock, Arkansas
Hi, my name is Kevin Durden, a Freshman from Little Rock, Arkansas, and the current ASG Senate Parliamentarian. I’m running for reelection because I love the University of Arkansas and want to continue working towards making it the best it can be. During my time in the Senate, I authored, sponsored, and contributed to multiple bills, including legislation clarifying the internal operations of ASG, requiring NARCAN training for students, addressing the climate crisis, and much more. I’ve also worked as a member of the Senate Leadership Council, working with the other members of SLC to lead and guide the Senate. In addition to experience in the ASG Senate, I also have lots of other experience with legislative bodies, resolution writing, and parliamentary procedure. In high school, I was a 3x National qualifier and 2x state champion in Congressional Debate, writing and presenting bills reflecting real issues in my community. I’ve also served as chair of the Jurisprudence and Legislation Subcommittee for the DeMolay International Congress, in addition to being a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and director of Parliamentary Research for the Arkansas Academy for Public Service. However, experience means nothing without passion and a resolve for improving our great campus; a passion and resolve I have. If reelected, I will continue to work to make our campus more inclusive, more sustainable, and to represent the students of this great school. I promise that I will be a dedicated, active member of your senate and I will use my voice to allow all of our voices to be heard, so that we can build the best community for our university, together.

Hey Razorbacks! Serving as your Senator this past semester has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I’m thrilled to be an ASG Senate Candidate for the 2025-26 school year! I’ve had the privilege of being your advocate through not only voting on, but also drafting legislation on issues that matter most to you. Providing accessible resources to improve our students’ mental health, alleviating parking issues, and expanding on-campus food options to be more inclusive have all been at the forefront of my advocacy as a Senator, and if re-elected, I’m excited to be able to make lasting changes for every student! I’ve always loved being involved in my community on and off campus, and to be able to serve you and our 30,000 undergraduates again would be an immense honor! I take pride in being a part of Phi Mu, LOUDwomen Community, Mock Hogs, ZeroHour Arkansas, Bridge U of A, and Razorback Food Recovery (VAC) among others, avenues in which I’ve been able to learn and lead! As your Senator, I’d love to serve you and our campus with this same mindset at the forefront of my leadership, practicing hands-on learning and advocacy. With this servant mindset, I hope to set an example for our campus culture and ensure that our Razorbacks’ needs are met with a genuine and consistent willingness to help! I care deeply about the well-being and upliftment of others, and I vow to create an accepting and inclusive space for all Razorbacks. I love being a part of such a diverse campus, but it’s important to acknowledge that our differences do sometimes contribute to conflicts; I pledge to ensure that everyone’s voices are not only heard, but truly understood to reach solutions that benefit everyone. To be a part of a cause so fundamental to our university would be an incredibly rewarding experience, and I’d be honored to serve as your Senator once again! Vote Chas!

My decision to run for ASG Senator is fueled by a strong commitment to making a positive impact on our campus. I have always been passionate about advocacy and I believe that Senators play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the student body and administrators. Throughout my time in college, I have taken part in multiple opportunities that have helped developed my skills in leadership, collaboration, and communication. I am particularly passionate about fostering a more responsive and vibrant community, community service, and programs that help make every student have a sense of belonging. I am excited about this opportunity to represent my peers and work towards building a strong, supportive, and bright community.

I hope to continue extending awareness of what ASG’s efforts go towards and encourage non-ASG students to participate in bettering our university. Through the service pillar of Senate, I want to continue to lead by setting an example for events and taking initiative in volunteer opportunities that ASG extends. I hope to create a working system of hearing our student body out on issues they face and turning that over to legislation or working with proper faculty in relieving those issues. I plan on bridging any gaps within ASG in understanding or communicating to allow for easier processes and decision-making. I want to work with the Chair of Senate in creating a better organization of resources for future senators to allow them to feel comfortable in their role immediately. I hope to continue my efforts as Senator because I feel as though I have yet to serve my full potential as part of Senate. I hope to work alongisde my peers to continue improving our university.

John Canaan Taylor
Jessieville, AR
Firstly, ASG Senate would provide an environment for me to meet driven peers and faculty in a setting unique to student government. There, I would be able to collaborate with students across all colleges and degrees and tackle important issues facing our University: the same collaboration that brought about improvements to CAPS, and the program to work off parking tickets. As a Senator, I would advocate for holding the University accountable for the current housing crisis and imploring them to do more in terms of student housing on campus. I believe building more student housing would help repair the damage done to our culture by forcing all upperclassmen off campus. This lack of community is also exacerbated by our reliance on Greek Life to provide an SEC culture. As Senator, I would work to emphasize and incorporate other student organizations into campus life to provide a more well-rounded and accepting culture for everyone. However, these things are easier said than done. I’ve learned the hard way during my first term as Senator that several of these problems are daunting and require purposeful communication and collaboration with several branches of our student government. The connections I’ve made throughout this past semester will help me bring effective legislation to the floor, especially concerning the lack of transparency towards parking and transit, as well as improving pedestrian safety. As a member of the Infrastructure committee, I will be able to work closely with similarly minded, and interested peers who are just as dedicated to solve campus issues pertaining to our infrastructure.

I want to serve as an ASG senator, because I am passionate about gaining experience in a “government-like” role at the University to further my awareness about how proper representation can impact a community. I hope to be used as a voice for the student body and to address all concerns with precision and consideration to create a well-rounded university based on student engagement.

It would be an honor to be an ASG Senator here at the U of A once again. I was actively involved in ASG Senate this past 2024-2025 school year, and I would be honored to serve again. I worked with senators on getting campus issues addressed and getting started on issues we have heard. Examples of these were student IDs, parking, dietary needs and lighting on campus. I am currently in the works of writing a bill to improve lighting on campus, I am sure many of you have noticed how ill lit the campus is in certain parts. I see this as a threat to our students and it needs to be addressed. Working together as a team in the Senate is one of the things I look forward to most. When we all put our minds together, we always come up with amazing new solutions. I was in the campus life committee this year and in high school I served as the Vice President of my student council. Being part of both of these, I learned to combine ideas and represent our community properly. Representing the 28,000 students will be no easy task, but I am eager to take on the challenge and get to know everyone. I want to engage with the diverse population we have, attend RSO events, and broadcast our open mind to the students. I believe, with my leadership, dedication, and people skills, I would make an excellent addition to the ASG Senate.

As a dedicated and forward-thinking member of the ASG Senate, my mission, if reelected, is to continue advocating for meaningful change on our campus. Over the past year, I have worked to ensure that student voices are heard, and I am committed to bringing the same level of passion, support, and initiative to Senate—especially in the realm of campus activities and student engagement. One of my primary goals is to increase the efficiency and impact of student government by passing more legislation that directly benefits students. Whether it’s improving student resources, expanding funding for campus organizations, or ensuring that student-led initiatives receive the attention they deserve, I want to see tangible progress that enhances the student experience. This means not only proposing well-researched and student-centered legislation but also working collaboratively with my fellow Senators to turn ideas into action. I believe in fostering a campus environment where every student has access to opportunities that allow them to thrive—academically, socially, and professionally. To accomplish this, I will advocate for increased financial support for student organizations, particularly those that promote leadership development, diversity, and mental health initiatives. I have seen firsthand how involvement in campus activities shapes student success, and I want to ensure that all students have the resources they need to participate fully in the vibrant life of the University of Arkansas. Thank you for your consideration!

*Re-Elect Alexander Dennis* E Pluribus Unum, “Out of Many One”, this phrase is the American reminder that through all of our differences, we are one people. Here at the University of Arkansas, we need to remind ourselves that WE BELONG! Each person in our community is unique, and our differences are the source of our greatest strength. When we work together, we are one people united in our love for this university. In another term as your senator, your voice will continue to be heard. I will continue to make ASG empower students to discover themselves and find Community. A little about me: I am a Junior at Walton Honors College pursuing a bachelor’s degree in both Supply Chain Management and Finance with a Minor in Data Analytics and information security with a 3.95 GPA. I am your ASG Senator, a member of Leadership Walton, Beta Alpha Psi, and BYX Fraternity (Brothers Under Christ), and attend Cross Church’s college ministry C3. Other than currently being your Senator, I have held many leadership positions in the past and will draw on these as your senator. I am the former President of the Tri-M National Honor Society and former Ambassador for the Ignite professional studies program. In the last 4 years, I have had four different Experience Opportunities: J.B. Hunt, Walmart Global Tech as an Assortment Data Analyst Intern, a HARIBO of America Sales to Walmart & Sam’s Club Intern, and a Heritage Oak Wealth Advisors Financial Analyst Apprentice. With your vote and support, I will continue to make the many pieces of this campus into one, E Pluribus Unum!

As a current ASG senator, I have learned so much about this university, its students, and its operations. With this insight and experience in the workings of ASG, I believe I can and will make a positive addition to this year’s Senate. As a senator, I would be an active listener, using my voice to echo that of the student body I represent. When action is needed, I will write and support legislation to create change. Thank you for this opportunity. It would be an honor to serve and represent the university in this way.

I would like to serve as an ASG senator, because I am interested in serving in a “government-like” role to gain an experience in a collective and cooperative environment. As well as addressing all the concerns students may have with full effort and sincere intentions.

As a freshman at the University of Arkansas, I am very passionate about community involvement and creating an environment where every student feels a sense of self-worth. Associated Student Government is a perfect opportunity to be involved and allow each student’s voice to be heard. I have had the opportunity to see the importance of students having advocates who will listen and act on their concerns. As a member of Associated Student Government, I aim to focus on student support and inclusivity on campus. Throughout high school I had the opportunity to be involved in various clubs and organizations where I’ve gained experience in leadership and teamwork. These experiences showed me the importance of collaboration and effective communication. I have fostered a love for the governmental system and I strive to use my passion for advocacy and positively impact my community. I am committed to making students at the University of Arkansas feel heard and understood.

I want to serve as an ASG Senator to promote diversity and facilitate new ideas. I hope to amplify the voices of all students and accurately represent their views. In a time where a lot of attention is on higher education, I want to make the voices of students heard and fight for students to have access to the proper resources and spaces to make their education the best it can be. My goals as a senator include improving the relationship between ASG and the general student body, getting a more diverse array of students involved in ASG, and advocating for legislation to better include all students and make their experience here easier.

I’ve had the privilege of serving as a student senator this year and in my term, I’ve learned a lot about student advocacy. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to take what I’ve learned back to senate next year to continue to advocate for students on the issues for which I was elected in the fall; Housing affordability and Accessibility and Student government outreach and transparency. I think when a person is asking to be re-elected to a position, it’s important to consider how they spent their first term. Throughout this semester I’ve met with 2 Vice-Chancellors to speak to them about housing policy on campus and what the university and student government can do to work for students. In terms of the work I’ve gotten done so far, I have 2 bills concerning housing written that are soon to be introduced to the Senate, one concerning dorm housing on campus and the other encouraging the university and relevant parts of student government to act to advocate for better housing policy in Fayetteville. These projects are complete and almost on the Senate floor, and I’m proud to say that I’ve kept, and will continue to keep the promises I made in my platform in the fall. Over the course of this term, I’ve gotten the chance to expand my skills as a student advocate massively. I want to use the skills I’ve gained to continue to fight for students as a Senator and I’d appreciate you helping me get there. If you have any questions about the work I’ve done, what I plan to do, or are curious about anything to do with senate at all I’d love to speak with you about it, you can reach me at schwindt@uark.edu.

My name is Paris Perez, and I am so excited for this potential opportunity to serve our campus community as well as ensure inclusivity and safety across the university. The Associated Student Government has the chance to emphasize general problems that occur frequently, and I know that I can be of assistance in these conversations. I am very passionate about safety on campus, specifically the Title IX act. I believe that there can be more implications towards Title IX education within classrooms as well as campus community events to promote the possible discriminatory acts occurring on universities. As I previously mentioned, this is an opportunity to implement beneficial intention with a purposeful execution towards all students, faculty, and staff within our Razorback community.

I am passionate about serving as an ASG Senator to help broaden awareness of campus resources and foster a greater sense of unity and inclusion. My goal is to bridge gaps in communication and promote an inclusive campus environment where every student feels seen, heard, and empowered to pursue their passions. With experience in ASG’s senate as a senator and Committee leader, I have been able to work firsthand alongside initiatives to broaden student’s access to resources ranging from parking and sustainability to funding and communication. I would be honored to have the opportunity to serve as your senator once again to continue pursuing these initiatives.

Luis Maya

Hello, Razorbacks! I am Senator Luis Maya, and I am running for re-election to the ASG Senate. Having served in various local, regional, state, and national capacities and positions and represented tens to hundreds of thousands of people, I have demonstrated my commitment to serving the people of our great state and always putting Arkansas first. Because of my deep pride and enthusiasm for our university and state, people call me “Mr. Arkansas,” which I endorse and live up to. In my time in the Senate so far, I have made significant progress, including being elected to serve on the Allocations Committee, which manages thousands of dollars within the Senate branch funds. I have also introduced and passed two resolutions unanimously: one encouraging the creation of a University Election Day Holiday and another advocating for the preservation and creation of new native green landscapes on campus. These efforts reflect my dedication to improving the student experience, but I am far from done. Before the year ends, I have additional legislative pieces focused on Dining Services and increasing the visibility of ASG that I aim to pass. Looking ahead, I also have plans for next year to further enhance our campus and student life if I am re-elected. Raised in rural southwest Arkansas, I lead, learn, and serve with the key qualities of pragmatism, altruism, vision, and delivering results. Using what I bring to the table, I am committed to serving the undergraduate class and would greatly appreciate your vote for re-election to the ASG Senate. My platform includes: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – I am committed to working hard to enhance, embolden, and ensure that you receive the highest quality education and experience at the University of Arkansas to make the most of your God-given potential by working to expand resources, promoting traditions and heritage, and enhancing student engagement to build a more connected and supportive campus environment. RSO FUNDING & TRANSPARENCY – The Associated Student Government allocates and budgets over $400,000 in total. I will prioritize responsible and efficient spending, ensuring that every dollar spent by the student government is used accurately, efficiently, and in the best interest of every student on campus. I will always vote with the intent to reduce fees, barriers, and costs for students. ENVIRONMENT & PARTNERSHIPS – I support enhanced environmental efforts on campus, from green spaces to beautification and making the most of our natural state. Most importantly, I am always open to hearing your concerns directly because I want you to feel represented and valued. Let’s have open conversations, so I can serve you best.

Alexa Roldan

As a senator, my goal is to be able to bring ideas that can support the increase in student enrollment by expanding and improving the inclusivity, transparency, and support across campus for all students. As a former Freshman Leadership Forum, I have been able to communicate and connect with many students of various different backgrounds, and with that knowledge I want to bring a fresh new voice into the Senate, as I aim to create and advocate for the advancement of policies and ideas that can help build a more welcoming campus environment that provides students with the increased opportunities and support that they need in order to thrive. I want to be able to create a campus community where each student feels valued, supported, and empowered while attending the University of Arkansas.

I want to serve as an ASG senator because I want to help ensure that the student body is properly supported in earning their degrees through the student government. Be that by working to find ways to improve students’ living situations both on and off campus, to improve students’ time on campus, or to better support students who may lack the financial ability to easily and comfortably keep themselves well fed and ready for classes. I hope that by engaging with other student body representatives and the university itself I can help strive for a better learning and living experience for students.

Hey UofA! I am so excited to announce my candidacy for Arkansas Associated Student Government Senate. I am running in order to represent all students in a positive way. My goal is to make our campus a place where every voice is heard so that improvements can be made to not only better our college as a whole, but each student individually. I love the University of Arkansas and feel it truly is my home away from home, and that love is what inspires me to run for senate so I can give back to this place!

As a returning Senator, I am committed to continuing support for the rights of residents by advocating for fair housing policies, and addressing challenges faced by students with parking and transit. With a proven track record of sponsoring meaningful legislation, such as SR1, advocating student support in making Election Day a holiday on campus and SR2, supporting preservation and expansion of native Arkansas plants on campus, I am fully prepared to continue this work improving student life. Your vote is a vote for an experienced, outspoken, and goal-oriented leader who ensures your voice is heard and acted upon. Join me in progressing toward a stronger campus!

As a returning senator, I plan to continue to serve in the research committee, a committee dedicated to retrieving feedback directly from the student body. My goal is to create a stronger relationship between the student body and the student government, allowing us to fight for the initiatives that students care about the most. I firmly believe in the mission of the ASG Senate and hope to continue serving in the branch for years to come.

Benjamin Schafer

I wish to return for my third year as an ASG senator to continue advocating for the student body. My goal this year is to drive ASG to make the University of Arkansas campus a safer place. This includes better lighting, better access to resources, and much more.
