Amanda Hux’s passion for justice and policy began well before college. While many of her classmates dragged their feet through AP history and government, she looked forward to every lesson. The Associated Student Government Judicial Branch (ASGJ) plays a vital role in ensuring fairness, accountability, and integrity within ASG through the leadership of Chief Justice Paige Williams and her team of justices and proxies including Associate Justice Maggie Schmidt. Despite often being labeled as a closed-off branch, ASGJ is deeply connected to the broader ASG community, and serves as an essential resource for the student body.

When people hear the words “student government,” the emphasis often lands on government, but it’s the student part that makes this organization special. The agents of ASG are classmates, friends, and peers all walking the same sidewalks and coming from every corner of campus. From sculptors to scientists, aspiring politicians to business professionals, ASG brings together some of the brightest minds on campus — students whose futures may head in every direction, but meet here to make a difference.
