The following message comes from ASG President Connor Flocks regarding the recent loss of University of Arkansas student Cole Pangburn. A text-only version of the statement can be found below.
We are devastated by the loss of a fellow student, friend, and valued member of the Razorback Family. Cole Pangburn’s legacy is evident in the outpouring of support that has arisen from students, faculty, staff and the Fayetteville community. We want to ensure that tragedies like this do not happen again at the University of Arkansas.
The true character of this University and Razorback Community shines during times like this. We not only care about our students’ education but, more importantly, about their lives – their highs and lows, triumphs and tragedies. The U of A is more than an educational institution – it’s a family.
The Associated Student Government at the University of Arkansas has been made aware of a proposal to require helmets for all riders of motorized scooters on our campus. We are working diligently with campus partners to increase scooter safety at the U of A in order to ensure the safety of all our students.
